SYATP - The Photographs

Flagsmall.JPGOn Wednesday September 15, 2004 we participated in See You At The Pole at Sullivan High School, Sullivan Middle School, and Sullivan Elementary School. There were 32 teens who showed up at the high school, 12 at the Junior High, and 27 kids showed up at the Elementary school flagpole as well.
I think we have decided that next year we will start a little later in the morning, 7:00 a.m. was too early. Many of the students simply can't make it, and can't get a ride to school and the buses actually don't start showing up until 7:30. Smallweb.JPG

09-15-04_0711.jpg Jr. High had almost 5 times the attendance this year as compared to the very few that made it to the flagpole last year.
A student in the elementary school also led SYATP, having 27 elementary school students show up at their flagpole.

All in all, SYATP went very well this year.

FUEL: Igniting New Life In Sunday School

Today we began the first session of the new FUEL material. This is a comprehensive study of the Bible using interactive DVD's and small groups to teach students the entire Bible in a period of two years. If you make it to your Sunday School small group every week for two years and if you follow the devotion guide each day then you will have studied and read through the whole bible!FUELlogoW_sm.jpg

I want to encourage you to stay on task with your daily devotionals and with your weekly memory verses. There is nothing more important to your spiritual life than your personal devotion time with the Lord. As Christians we must continue to renew our minds in Christ by reading His word everyday and coming to him in prayer. Keep a journal of your quiet time each day, writing down what the verse is saying, what it means to your life today, and what you are going to do about it. I would also encourage you to keep a prayer journal, writing down things you need to pray for and things you have already prayed for throughout each day!

FUEL is an excellent opportunity to grow in the Lord and with each other, as we take on the monumental task of studying the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Plan on being a part of a small group in Sunday School this week at 9:30 a.m.
